Pipeline Welding/NACE Inspector Role

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a skilled Pipeline Welding/NACE Inspector to join our Technical Inspection Services team in Sabine Pass, TX.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan in conjunction with the Project Execution Plan.
  • Promote quality awareness throughout the organization, emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement, and corrective action.
  • Verify that suppliers and contractors have relevant, up-to-date codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
  • Interface with discipline engineers, construction engineers, field workers, and inspectors in a professional manner.
  • Witness and monitor suppliers' and contractors' work activities, inspection, and testing in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures, and etc.
  • Assist in the review of Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and Quality Procedures, and all pertained QA/QC documentation prior to commencement of any fabrication/construction work.
  • Verify that correct/sufficient materials are available on site.
Requirements:
  • Minimum NACE Level 2 certification.
  • Current CWI or CPWI certification.
  • Construction welding and coatings inspection experience is required.
  • Proficient in the use and calibration of welding and coating inspection tools.
  • Able to monitor in-process welding and coating applications and verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specific job requirements.
  • Inspection personnel should be familiar with nondestructive examination fundamentals, techniques, and applicability, including radiographic examination, liquid penetrant examination, magnetic particle examination (yoke and prod techniques), visual examination, leak testing/hydro testing, and ultrasonic thickness measurement.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Able to work and communicate in a team environment.
  • Must possess fundamental verbal and writing skills in the English language.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to walk long distances.
  • Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Must be able to stand for extended durations.
  • Must be able to reach in all directions.
  • Must have good visual acuity with regards to color, depth perception, and field vision.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures.
  • Must be alert and able to determine job-related hazards and recognize when hazards change.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
