We are seeking a highly skilled Pipeline Welding/NACE Inspector to join our Technical Inspection Services team at Intertek. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our clients' pipeline welding and coatings projects.
Key Responsibilities- Capture and report inspection results in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that suppliers and contractors have access to relevant codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
- Interface with discipline engineers, construction engineers, field workers, and inspectors in a professional and collaborative manner.
- Witness and monitor suppliers' and contractors' work activities, inspections, and tests in accordance with approved quality plans, inspection and test plans, and quality procedures.
- Assist in the review of quality plans, inspection and test plans, and quality procedures prior to the commencement of fabrication or construction work.
- Verify that correct and sufficient materials are available on site.
- Minimum NACE Level 2 certification.
- Current CWI or CPWI certification.
- Construction welding and coatings inspection experience is required.
- Proficient in the use and calibration of welding and coating inspection tools.
- Able to monitor in-process welding and coating applications and verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specific job requirements.
- Inspection personnel should be familiar with nondestructive examination fundamentals, techniques, and applicability, including:
- Radiographic examination.
- Liquid penetrant examination.
- Magnetic Particle examination (Yoke and Prod techniques).
- Visual examination.
- Leak testing/Hydro testing.
- Ultrasonic thickness measurement.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Able to work and communicate in a team environment.
- Must possess fundamental verbal and writing skills in the English language.
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required.
- Must be able to walk long distances.
- Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Must be able to stand for extended durations.
- Must be able to reach in all directions.
- Must have good visual acuity with regards to color, depth perception, and field vision.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Must be alert and able to determine job-related hazards and recognize when hazards change.
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
