Welding and Coatings Quality Inspector
Intertek, a leading provider of quality assurance and safety solutions, is seeking a Welding and Coatings Quality Inspector (Temporary, Full Time) to enhance our Technical Inspection Services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the implementation of the Project Quality Plan alongside the Project Execution Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document inspection results and observations promptly.
- Verify that suppliers and contractors possess current codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
- Engage professionally with engineers, construction teams, and field inspectors.
- Monitor and witness contractor activities, ensuring compliance with the approved Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan (ITP).
- Assist in reviewing Quality Plans, ITPs, and all relevant QA/QC documentation before fabrication or construction begins.
- Ensure that adequate materials are available on-site.
Qualifications:
- Minimum NACE Level 2 certification.
- Current CWI or CPWI certification is required.
- Experience in construction welding and coatings inspection.
- Skilled in using and calibrating welding and coating inspection tools.
- Able to oversee in-process welding and coating applications, ensuring adherence to applicable codes and standards.
- Familiarity with nondestructive examination techniques, including radiographic, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, visual examination, leak testing, and ultrasonic thickness measurement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license with a reliable driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Good visual acuity regarding color, depth perception, and field vision.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Capacity to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
