Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the maintenance team and ensure the smooth operation of the manufacturing process. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage the team and coordinate with other departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the plant facilities.
  • Support employee development through training, cross-training, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Provide informal and formal performance feedback to assess employee performance and help employees improve their performance.
  • Maintain and monitor employee records, including disciplinary, attendance, safety, and other relevant information.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained in safety procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct accident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop training curriculum and instructional guides.
  • Promote a culture of process control and quality excellence.
  • Manage the coordination of outside contractors for services and ensure access to the facility.
  • Develop bid packages to suppliers for quoting and budgeting purposes.
  • Manage the data entry of purchase requisitions into SAP for approval.
  • Assist in the development of long-term planning and budgeting with the Plant Engineering Manager.
  • Interface with other departments to proactively develop and implement plans to address safety, quality, cost, and customer service challenges.
  • Enhance relations between manufacturing personnel and other departments.
  • Prepare work schedules and assignments for employees according to manufacturing schedule requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct safety meetings, team meetings, manufacturing meetings, supervisor meetings, and engineering meetings as required.
  • Administer corrective action and resolve employee complaints through impartial investigation, counseling, or corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all work areas and ensure employees are trained in 6S.
  • Understand and discuss the importance of Hyosung HICO's Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Supervise unscheduled work, including maintenance, prototypes, repairs, and other tasks.
  • Train, implement, and sustain lean manufacturing principles and take an active role in continuous improvement.
  • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and utilize manufacturing data and information to ensure quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with other company departments to improve overall factory performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in engineering, technical, or business field.
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance with exposure to lean manufacturing techniques.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing interpersonal skills.
  • Developed general reasoning and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Developed knowledge of fabrication and assembly techniques, processes, and methods.
  • Developed knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and electronics applications.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, safety, and quality control concepts.
  • Developed computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
  • Developed knowledge of management of computerized maintenance management system/PM systems.
