Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker Supervisor to join our team at the Justice, Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System. As a key member of our institution's maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facilities, supervising inmate workers, and ensuring the safety and security of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train inmate workers in various maintenance and repair tasks, including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and other related trades.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans, specifications, and blueprints to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of our facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Order and purchase materials and equipment as needed to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Collaborate with other institution staff to maintain security and ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Applicants must have sufficient training and experience to demonstrate their ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Qualifications will be determined by comparing the applicant's experience and skills to the guidelines found in the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, WS-4749 Series.
  • The successful candidate must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance.

The Maintenance Worker Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment, overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facilities, supervising inmate workers, and ensuring the safety and security of our institution.
