Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position at St. Joseph Medical Center is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. As a member of our interprofessional healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, efficient, and effective care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, including EKGs, vaccinations, and health screenings.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate, coordinate, and maintain quality care and desired treatment outcomes.
  • Act as a patient and family advocate to monitor and maintain patient rights.
  • Perform procedures and administer medications as directed by a physician or experienced RN.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Vocational Nurse accepted by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Technical, clerical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care.
  • Certification requirements as defined by the certification policy.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
