About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Lines Sales Representative to join our team at PeopleShare Inc. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with property and casualty insurance brokers in the Maryland area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Match existing agent relationships and books of business opportunities to identify new sales leads.
  • Recommend new commercial lines distribution partners in the territory and ultimately sign up all appropriate agents based on the strength of these current relationships.
  • Pursue, upsell, cross-sell, and recapture opportunities with agencies and brokers to drive sales growth.
  • Coordinate new business proposal meetings with key accounts to present optional plans and ensure the best pricing is offered.
  • Lead the annual planning process, implement, and monitor sales strategies throughout the year.
  • Review underwriting appetite and services with agencies and brokers to ensure alignment with our business goals.
  • Attend point-of-sale meetings with agencies and brokers to discuss sales opportunities and provide support.
  • Assist with contracting new agencies and brokers, as well as onboarding and terminating existing relationships as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date agency and broker profiles to inform sales strategies.
  • Represent PeopleShare Inc. at corporate functions, including industry events and marketing initiatives.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance sales, marketing, or underwriting, with a strong track record of success.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex issues orally and in writing, with a focus on building strong relationships with brokers and agencies.
  • Full knowledge of commercial lines insurance products, including standard products and usage.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, tasks, and requests, with a focus on meeting sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage client and prospect lists.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to meet strategic goals and drive sales growth in the assigned territory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on commercial lines sales, marketing, or underwriting.
  • Specific knowledge of the commercial lines market in the Maryland area, including new agent appointments and account opportunities.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Must maintain and remain current with state licenses and continuing education credits.
