Job Summary:

Parkdale US Cotton is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the transportation of stock from the carding area to the spinning department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport stock from the carding area to the spinning department using a pullcat.
  • Load and unload trailers with full cans of stock without damaging the stock.
  • Maneuver 80-100 pounds in a push and pull motion to load and unload stock.
  • Replace stock as it runs out or is requested by the operator.
  • Sweep designated areas twice per shift to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Keep trailer wheels clean for optimal operation.
  • Maintain a clean vent on the side of the pullcat.
  • Perform proper lifting procedures when changing the battery of the pullcat.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or practices to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Previous forklift experience is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and perform all scheduled job procedures independently.
  • Ability to maintain an upright, walking position for a twelve-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment at all times.

Work Environment:

The Material Handler will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with a focus on safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.
