Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Finishing Operator to join our team at Kurz. As a Finishing Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review orders to meet customer needs, including color, label, width, and length.
  • Set up machines with the correct settings and tension for each order.
  • Inspect materials and ensure proper conversion based on the order.
  • Operate finishing machines to precisely spool, slit, rewind, or cut jumbo stock.
  • Pool material from and to designated stock locations.
  • Change blades on machines and thread through spooling components.
  • Splice product rolls by identifying and removing defective sections with a knife.
  • Report any issues with finishing orders to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Enter all finishing information accurately into SAP using the correct scrap codes.
  • Manage off-cuts efficiently according to company procedures.
  • Collaborate with material handlers to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect and certify all outgoing rolls to guarantee customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge on reading tape measure.
  • Basic and intermediate math skills.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP/Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions:

The role requires extended periods of sitting and standing. Climbing may be required depending on the machine being used.
