Supply Chain Inventory Supervisor

In this role, you will oversee the daily communication and activities related to inventory management within Retail operations. Your focus will be on ensuring that the quality, quantity, and cost of goods align with customer expectations while meeting operational objectives. You will integrate customer service with the operational standards of various distribution centers through effective business process alignment and training. Addressing inquiries or complaints and providing solutions will be key components of your responsibilities. Your goal will be to maintain inventory accuracy and availability to meet customer demands effectively. You will also manage processes related to customer service, procurement, and national account interactions.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $85,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive plan with a target of 10% of your base salary. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with distribution warehouse personnel to achieve optimal business outcomes in alignment with standard operating procedures and business initiatives.
- Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory control to senior management on a monthly basis.
- Drive continuous improvement in distribution center operations and customer service processes for the benefit of both internal teams and external clients.
- Oversee and enhance the inventory purchasing process to facilitate effective cost control decisions in collaboration with buyers.
- Collaborate with the national account team to manage forecasts, limited-time offers, and special purchases based on customer requirements.
- Coordinate with national account managers and/or customers on inventory allocations based on specific metrics.
- Work closely with buyers and distribution centers to ensure product quality standards are met, including addressing shelf-life issues.
- Partner with the logistics team to ensure service metrics are achieved and investigate any arising issues.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and costs to effectively serve customers.
- Manage and reconcile inventory levels across all warehouse locations.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience is necessary.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, customer service, accounting, warehousing, or transportation is required.
- Experience in the food service industry is preferred.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and supportive environment internally and with warehouses.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proven track record of achieving results through effective negotiation, resource allocation, strong communication, and sound judgment.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships within and outside the company.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
- This position is remote with potential travel of up to 50% to distribution centers.
