Role Description

Senior Healthcare Direct, an AmeriLife company, is an insurance provider based in Oldsmar, Florida. Our goal is to deliver insurance and retirement solutions that empower individuals to lead longer, healthier, and more secure lives.

We are expanding our team at Senior Healthcare Direct, Medicare Bob's Office, and are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact. We have successfully transitioned many individuals from sales positions to rewarding "Sales Careers." Upon joining, you will undergo comprehensive training to master the art of selling health insurance.

Our agents are appointed with leading insurance carriers, including AARP/UHC, Aetna/Coventry, Cigna, GPM, Humana, Mutual of Omaha, and others. By representing top carriers, our agents can effectively assist clients in selecting the appropriate Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Part D plans.

As a health insurance consultant, your role will involve guiding individuals in understanding their coverage options.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Client Education: Offer clear explanations and guidance on Medicare options, helping clients make informed decisions about their coverage.
  • Plan Selection: Assist clients in identifying the most suitable plans based on their healthcare needs, requiring a thorough understanding of various plan options, benefits, and coverage limits.
  • Application Support: Guide clients through the enrollment process, ensuring accurate completion of applications and submissions for successful enrollment.
  • Client Assistance: Address inquiries and resolve issues related to specific plan benefits, including doctor and medication inquiries.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about the latest regulatory changes and ensure adherence to all guidelines.
Key qualifications and skills for this role include:
  • Experience: Prior experience in health insurance, particularly with Medicare plans, is highly desirable, providing a solid foundation for understanding the intricacies of Medicare.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for clearly explaining Medicare and its workings, ensuring clients understand their options.
  • Team Collaboration: Being a team player is vital, as you will work alongside colleagues to achieve common goals, sharing knowledge and supporting one another.
  • Motivation to Succeed: A strong desire to excel in a competitive environment is crucial. You will learn and apply effective selling techniques and business operations to achieve profitability and meet sales objectives in the Medicare market.
Please note: A background check is part of the screening and hiring process. The State Department of Insurance may disqualify individuals with certain felony convictions from licensure. Additionally, some misdemeanors may require a waiting period before applying for licensure. A license may not be issued unless all fines, court costs, fees, and court-ordered restitution have been settled.

Employment Type: Permanent

Compensation: A typical agent can expect to earn approximately $61,000 in their first year.
