Produce Order Coordinator

Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Replenishment: Ensure timely and accurate ordering and stocking of produce products, following proper buying procedures to meet customer demand.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control spoilage, shrink, and inventory turns, participating in regular inventory counts and implementing strategies to minimize waste.
  • Merchandising and Display: Maximize sales potential through effective merchandising and display techniques, including stocking, rotating, and maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer needs and concerns in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques to drive sales.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the produce team to achieve sales and inventory goals, supporting leadership in conducting inventories and implementing store initiatives.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, adhering to WFM cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Immediately report safety hazards and violations, and ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Produce Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of produce products, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and leadership to achieve sales and inventory goals.
  • Math and Computer Skills: Basic math skills and proficiency in computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand and walk for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
