Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Rapid City Best Western Ramkota Hotel. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel's maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist guests in a courteous and professional manner, providing exceptional service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Inspect all operating systems and components of the hotel to ensure they are functioning properly, efficiently, and safely.
  • Respond promptly to guest complaints or concerns, informing the front desk when action is complete.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, or make recommendations for repairs of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems, building components, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Maintain the grounds, landscaping, and parking areas in a clean, neat, safe, and attractive manner.
  • Perform the RPM schedule on a timely basis, ensuring that all elements of the guest room meet the standards of the property.
  • Perform painting, carpentry, plumbing, carpet cleaning, and other jobs as necessary.
  • Procure and maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies to perform duties.
  • Maintain all storage areas, shops, vending, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, and secure manner.
  • Understand and apply all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.
  • Keep the General Manager and Head Maintenance Engineer promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
Requirements:
  • Ability to accept directions and priorities from the Head Maintenance Engineer and reliably follow through on tasks.
  • Ability to perform job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guest.
  • Ability to be friendly and cheerful, interact easily with strangers.
  • Ability to cooperate and support others.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work with both indoor and outdoor equipment, including vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning machines, floor buffers, lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc.
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, be in good physical condition, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 100# or more may be required.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
