Overview

We are seeking a professional and meticulous Facilities Maintenance Specialist to ensure our property operates at peak performance and provides an exceptional experience for our guests.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage the overall maintenance of the hotel, ensuring it remains functional, enjoyable, and secure for all visitors.

Ideal candidates should be proactive, innovative, and dedicated to enhancing guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate a comprehensive plan for routine and preventive maintenance, collaborating with department heads to coordinate efforts.
  • Diagnose and repair issues in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, as well as other hotel facilities.
  • Address maintenance inquiries, complaints, and work orders, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Select and manage external vendors as necessary.
  • Uphold a safe environment for guests and staff by adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Act as the project manager for renovations within the hotel.
  • Respond promptly to reports of malfunctioning equipment from both guests and staff.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs for all activities.
  • Assess upcoming business needs and projects to appropriately schedule staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards by liaising with inspectors and implementing corrective measures as required.
  • Keep all mechanical, electrical, and structural blueprints current.
  • Ensure staff are well-trained and certified to operate essential systems.
  • Prepare and monitor the engineering and housekeeping budget, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Oversee the operations of housekeeping, public areas, and laundry services.
  • Recruit and onboard qualified maintenance personnel.
  • Provide orientation and training to new employees to clarify expectations and responsibilities.
  • Communicate performance expectations and offer continuous feedback to team members.
  • Offer coaching and support to help employees meet performance goals and realize their potential.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans for facility management that align with the hotel's overall objectives.
  • Complete all assigned tasks and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Adhere to all engineering safety standards and procedures.
  • Utilize a variety of tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, drills, and wrenches, to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Manage the hotel's machinery and preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Maintain open communication with team members and other staff.

Qualifications

  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and inspire high performance.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and initiative.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise relevant to hotel maintenance.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in hotel maintenance or a related field.
  • Familiarity with web-based facilities maintenance software is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
