Infusion Therapy Medical Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and document patients' vital signs before, during, and after infusion sessions.
  • Accurately log patient data related to infusion therapies, including medication dosages, infusion rates, and patient reactions.
  • Prepare patients for infusion treatments by clarifying procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterility of all equipment, including IV lines, needles, and infusion sites.
  • Support physicians and nursing staff during infusion processes by providing necessary tools and assistance.
  • Collect and handle laboratory specimens pertinent to infusion therapy, such as blood samples for compatibility assessments.
  • Perform venipuncture for IV access and manage intravenous lines proficiently.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing as needed to monitor patients' responses to infusions.
  • Administer Electrocardiograms (EKGs) when required for patient evaluation.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Medical Assistant Certification and a High School Diploma.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, with a focus on infusion therapy.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, enhancing communication with a diverse patient base.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for precise documentation and data management.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday with alternating Saturdays
Compensation: Up to $25 per hour based on experience. Comprehensive benefits include Tuition Reimbursement, Health Insurance from day one, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-term disability, 401k Plan, generous PTO, and 8 paid holidays (2 floating).
