Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Infusion Nurse II, a licensed registered nurse responsible for coordinating and delivering intermediate direct patient care in home settings or alternate infusion suites. This role is crucial in ensuring patient safety and adherence to a physician's care plan while operating under structured supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement intermediate nursing care plans, assessing patient progress and modifying treatments as necessary to meet established goals.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments during each visit, utilizing health data and patient interviews to inform care decisions.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior Infusion Nurses to uphold patient safety and compliance standards.
  • Educate patients and their families on care needs and therapy independence through a patient-centered approach.
  • Communicate effectively with the clinical team, medical providers, and families to ensure continuity of care, while maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and prepare comprehensive discharge summaries with clear patient instructions.
  • Adhere to agency policies, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance and quality of care.
  • Utilize technology to enhance work efficiency, validate treatment orders, and document patient care accurately.
  • Respond promptly to patient inquiries and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Maintain ethical and professional conduct, ensuring confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on the scope of services and financial obligations related to their care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance professional competency and licensure.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions and provide guidance to peers as needed.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
  • Current CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of prior experience in infusion nursing.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with maximum lifting capacity of 75 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous materials.
  • Compliance with safety requirements including appropriate personal protective equipment.

Travel Requirements:

Willingness to travel for business purposes as needed.
