Job Title: Part Time Laboratory Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part Time Laboratory Administrative Assistant to join our team at EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Meriden, CT.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the laboratory manager and analysts, ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory. This role will involve a variety of tasks, including sample management, data entry, and communication with clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process environmental samples, ensuring accurate Chain of Custody entry into our LIMS system.
  • Manage shipping and receiving, distributing samples to analysts and logging them into the system.
  • Prepare and mail reports and invoices to clients, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Review and inspect samples for integrity and completeness.
  • Generate analytical reports and enter data into our computer system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering high-volume phone calls and responding to client inquiries via email.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Perform various clerical duties, including filing, faxing, and scanning as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of experience in an office, customer service, or call center environment.
  • Science background is desirable, but not required.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in MS Office and typing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Organizational and attention to detail are essential.
Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
