We are a subsidiary of an Israeli publicly-traded company, Energix Renewable Energies LTD. (TASE: ENRG), with a strong presence in the renewable energy market.
The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Project Development Manager to join our team in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of renewable energy projects in the US, from origination to NTP.
You will lead community and client relationships throughout the development process, working closely with our internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching and coordinating with local consultants and attorneys to prepare and submit permit applications.
- Representing the company at permitting hearings and providing expert witness testimonies when necessary.
- Building positive stakeholder relationships with state and county officials, local residents, and industry groups.
- Interface with Development Engineering, Legal, Policy, Project Finance, EPC, and executive team members to define and mitigate project risks.
- Frequent travel to meet with customers and key stakeholders, and as needed for project development.
- Developing and executing project marketing strategy in close collaboration with our External Affairs Team.
- Providing project budget, progress, and timeline updates to management.
- Overseeing project consultants: environmental, engineering, transmission, etc.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of project development experience, with direct utility-scale wind, BESS, or solar development experience strongly preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in a development-related field with a strong academic record.
- Experience with county and state permitting processes.
- Strong work ethic and ability to take ownership of projects while communicating collaboratively throughout the project's life cycle.
- Subject matter expertise in a business function related to the development process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to create forms, letters, and fundamental spreadsheets using MS Word and Excel, create presentations in PowerPoint, and perform internet-based research.
- Self-motivated with ability to work in a team and independently.
- Safe driving record, valid driver's license.
- Ability to work evenings to attend meetings and community events.
- 30-50% travel in region will be required during business hours in support of the position responsibilities.
