Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for procuring a variety of non-professional goods and services in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure goods and services in accordance with established procurement laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct complex competitive procurements, including writing and issuing IFBs and RFPs, conducting pre-specification, pre-bid, pre-proposal, and post-award conferences, and preparing formal negotiation strategies.
  • Administer contracts, including coordinating and analyzing feedback, recommending default actions, and finding alternative sources.
  • Provide guidance to end-users on contract-related discrepancies and establish, manage, maintain, and administer various types of contracts.

Requirements

  • Experience formulating term contracts for the purchase of goods and services.
  • Ability to obtain Virginia Contracting Officer (VCO) certifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
