Senior Controls Engineer

Havtech is seeking a skilled Controls Project Engineer to join their growing team.
The Controls Project Engineer will be responsible for designing and programming hardware/software for building automation systems.
The role will involve applying engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects, designing and procuring cost-effective controls solutions to meet project requirements, and working directly on the project team to perform project commissioning and startup.
Key Responsibilities- Design and program activities utilizing direct digital controls and automation systems for comfort control and energy savings.
- Develop sequence of operations that meet project requirements.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Validate engineered bill of material costs.
- Responsible for vendor purchase orders under Project Manager's direction.
- Review contract documents and conduct job surveys.
- Review equipment submittals for incorporation into design.
- Create installation drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings, and final validation of system operation.
- Provide engineering direction and support to other team members.
- Develop control programming and graphics for control systems.
- Assist project team with programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, test, and startup.
- Provide customer training.
- Manage multiple projects.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communication with staff, as needed, and providing customer feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or a combination of three to four years' experience with controls/mechanical systems.
- Computer programming experience is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project, and engineering drawing tools.
- Familiarity with the concepts of new construction, renovation/retrofit, and service project management.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in contracting processes associated with the installation of building automation systems and managing subcontractors.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in using Project Management Tools.
- Familiarity with the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, and temperature controls.
- Tridium Niagara and/or Alerton experience preferred.
