About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team at Apex Companies, LLC. As an Environmental Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients in maintaining compliance with various regulations and ensuring the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clients in maintaining compliance with safety, stormwater, industrial waste, air quality, hazardous materials handling and storage, and hazardous waste storage, tracking, and disposal regulations.
  • Support projects with compliance oversight in the field, including performing compliance inspections and meeting with agency inspectors and regulators.
  • Write technical reports and maintain familiarity with regulations pertinent to Apex projects.
  • Apply for regulatory permits and track permits to ensure compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff related to regulatory aspects of ongoing projects.
  • Oversee field activities to ensure compliance with regulatory permits.
Requirements
  • BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or other related field.
  • 6+ years of experience with environmental compliance in the US.
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to successfully multi-task.
  • Safety awareness and ability to maintain compliance records.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
  • Experience working in the field and directing field staff, as well as experience with data management and report preparation.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
