Reports To: Hygiene Center Manager
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6AM-3PM
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage

Role Summary:
The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) is dedicated to providing stable housing and essential services for individuals facing homelessness. Our Urban Hygiene Centers offer a safe and respectful environment for those in need, providing access to showers, toiletries, and laundry services. As a member of the Urban Hygiene Center team, your responsibilities will include customer service, administrative tasks, and maintaining cleanliness within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Ensure a welcoming and safe environment for all patrons.
- Schedule appointments for facility use and monitor patron activities.
- Distribute personal care items and manage towel usage according to procedures.
- Enforce facility rules to maintain safety and security.
- Provide information and referrals to patrons as needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain daily logs of activities and inventory supplies.
- Collect and update patron demographic and usage data.
- Follow established procedures for record-keeping and inventory management.
Cleaning Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning tasks according to a daily schedule to ensure a high standard of hygiene.
- Report maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
Expectations:
- Collaborate effectively with team members and volunteers.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of relevant experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform demanding tasks.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in social services, healthcare, or janitorial roles.
- Familiarity with conflict resolution strategies.
- Knowledge of relevant databases.
Upon Hiring:
- Successful completion of background checks and health screenings.
- Compliance with ongoing health and safety requirements.
