About the Opportunity:

Our client, a hospital system in Staten Island, is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Residency Program Director for the Psychiatry Department.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Setting:
Inpatient setting with no call responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

The Residency Program Director will be responsible for the overall operations of the psychiatry residency program, including recruitment, retention, training, and education of 24 residents across 4 years. The successful candidate will also ensure that all ACGME requirements for the training program are met on time. Additionally, they will work collaboratively with the DIO and serve on the Graduate Medical Education committee as appointed. The ideal candidate will have prior experience serving as a program director or associate program director in psychiatry or a subspecialty, and will be able to handle patient care responsibilities in addition to the duties of the program director.

Qualifications:
Current unrestricted NY medical license, Board Certified/Eligible in Psychiatry (MD/DO), DEA, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Academic experience is preferred, and consideration will be given to candidates with significant experience as a faculty member in a GME program with responsibilities for teaching, supervision, and evaluation of residents and fellows.
