Job Title: Staff Services Manager I

Job Summary:

The Staff Services Manager I is a key member of the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, responsible for overseeing the Budget and Accounting Unit. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills to manage a team and ensure the effective operation of the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set priorities and oversee the Budget and Accounting Unit
  • Process complex financial functions and manage a team
  • Provide technical advice and consultation to management
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback
  • Manage a team remotely and utilize Business Information System (BIS) data for daily activities

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to budget and accounting
  • Ability to manage a team and provide technical advice
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely

Working Conditions:

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, allowing employees to work from home and in the office. Telework is only available to residents of California.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by Department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
