Job Description and Duties

The Staff Services Manager I position is responsible for supervising, planning, and managing the activities of the Program Estimates and Automation Unit. The incumbent will review and edit all products prepared by Unit staff, including Unemployment Insurance and Disability Insurance workload and fund forecasts, actuarial reports, legislative analyses, and budget documents.

The Staff Services Manager I will provide training and direction as required on more complex assignments, such as those involving data processing, statistical modeling, and analyses. The incumbent will also direct special projects assigned in response to ad hoc requests from the Director and/or Executive Staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and data processing, combined with substantial knowledge of the Department's benefit and tax programs. The Staff Services Manager I will be responsible for all budget actions pertaining to IT projects, including the preparation of Budget Change Proposals for any special IT-related projects.
