We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Support Technician to join our team at Texas Tech University. As a key member of our IT department, you will provide expert-level technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities- Assist central IT management with technology strategic planning, technology selection, and capital replacement planning.
- Provide technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of hardware and software.
- Supervise and/or manage team members and/or project leads that provide institutional hardware and software support and maintenance.
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners for the Office of Research and Innovation (OR&I).
- Assist Texas Tech Central IT in monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks for OR&I.
- Respond timely to service issues and requests.
- Provide technical support across the OR&I Division.
- Set up accounts for new users.
- Assist in coordinating repair/replacement of equipment as necessary.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area.
- Seven years of related full-time paid experience.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills to work with various tech professionals.
