This position is critical in shaping the strategic vision of the Human Resources Department, ensuring alignment with the overall mission of the organization.
The Senior Vice President will provide leadership and oversight for HR policies, employee engagement, talent acquisition, systems enhancement, and benefits administration, while also being an integral member of the executive leadership team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Vice President will:
- Direct and manage processes related to recruitment, employment, benefits administration, compensation management, performance assessment, training, and employee relations.
- Advise employees and management on disciplinary matters, discrimination claims, and harassment issues by offering insights on policies, recommending actionable plans, and resolving conflicts.
- Ensure uniformity in the enforcement of personnel policies and regulations by consulting with senior leadership on applicable guidelines.
- Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures that comply with state and federal employment laws, as well as organizational policies.
- Assist in decision-making regarding promotions, terminations, and other personnel actions.
- Oversee payroll operations and related activities, including the management of contracts.
- Act as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator, investigating policy violations and complaints.
- Represent the organization at system-wide meetings and regional conferences.
- Manage the departmental budget effectively.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of personnel records, supervising the maintenance of employee files and verifying personnel actions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a Master's degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of seven years of direct experience in human resources management.
- Extensive knowledge of human resource management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with federal and state employment laws.
- Proficiency in organizational policies and procedures.
- Strong skills in personnel supervision, decision-making, and problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is primarily office-based, requiring effective management of various human resources functions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Vice President will oversee a team, including the Assistant Director of Human Resources, Human Resources Specialist, and Human Resources Coordinator.
