Position Overview:
The Credentialing Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that all employees, contractors, and service providers at COMHAR, Inc. comply with the necessary credentialing standards in delivering services. This position is tasked with the development, implementation, and maintenance of efficient processes for credentialing and re-credentialing. The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing the documentation and records management for effective credentialing and re-credentialing of all behavioral health professionals, ensuring adherence to funding source requirements and contractual obligations.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Compensation:
$47,132.80
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and uphold processes for monitoring and timely achievement of credentialing and re-credentialing requirements.
- Lead and coordinate the review and evaluation of healthcare and behavioral health practitioner applications and supporting documents to confirm applicant eligibility.
- Initiate and manage the credentialing and privileging processes for Licensed Behavioral Health Professionals.
- Identify and address issues that require further investigation and assessment.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring prompt and appropriate follow-up.
- Prepare credential files to guarantee timely completion and readiness for audits.
- Respond to inquiries from organizations and engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding day-to-day credentialing and privileging matters.
- Conduct internal audits of files and assist with managed care delegated credentialing audits.
- Support the verification of necessary pre-employment credentials, including certifications, licenses, education, and clearances.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all records and information while performing job duties.
- Establish and manage a schedule for audits across all programs.
- Oversee data and document entry in credentialing software.
- Generate monthly reports related to credentialing for all staff.
- Be prepared to visit other COMHAR locations for credentialing activities as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant credentialing experience in healthcare or human services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and HRIS).
- Understanding of full cycle credentialing and re-credentialing processes.
- Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and Managed Care organizations.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
- Experience with database management, including querying, reporting, and document generation.
