We are seeking a Customer Retention Marketing Specialist to assist in crafting the beloved Huckberry Newsletter, which engages our community of over 1 million subscribers three times a week.

This role will function as an assistant Editor-in-Chief, ensuring that the appropriate products and stories are showcased effectively through engaging copy, unique perspectives, and high-quality imagery.

Reporting Structure

The Customer Retention Marketing Specialist will report to the Retention Marketing Manager within the eCommerce Department. This position is highly visible, necessitating regular interaction with various departments across the organization, including senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities

No two days will be alike in this role. You will oversee the retention program from inception to execution and performance evaluation.

  • Lead and coordinate a talented team of 6-8 designers in weekly cycles to produce two emails per week and four SMS messages monthly.
  • Manage merchandising, provide input on positioning, distill feedback from stakeholders, and schedule campaigns.
  • Analyze customer insights, data, seasonal merchandise, and personal perspectives to inform product marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that channel merchandising aligns with both company objectives and customer preferences.
  • Maintain communication with campaign managers and key stakeholders throughout the planning and product launch phases.
  • Work alongside the Retention Marketing Manager to identify opportunities for A/B testing to enhance optimization and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes to improve launch strategies and cross-departmental alignment.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in email marketing and/or digital merchandising.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with prior project management experience considered a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with Email Service Providers (ESP) such as Klaviyo, Bluecore, and/or Attentive is advantageous.
  • Comfortable using project management tools, with Airtable being a plus.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, particularly Google Docs and Sheets.
