We are seeking a highly skilled Manager of Application Engineering to join our department. In this role, you will lead the development of new products and enhance existing ones while leveraging cutting-edge technologies. The Rewards department manages various products, including cashback bonuses, promotional offers, and diverse redemption options for cardholders through vendors. Our teams thrive in a dynamic setting utilizing methodologies such as pair programming, test-driven development, and agile practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide and mentor a team of engineers in both technical and interpersonal skills, fostering a group of highly competent, consistent, and customer-focused technology professionals. Ensure adherence to engineering excellence principles within their technical domain, promote consistency in technical execution, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning.
  • Utilize advanced technical skills to contribute as an engineer within a product team, designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality technology solutions for a product or set of products while developing your subject matter expertise. Demonstrated experience in multiple programming languages, modern software methodologies, CI/CD, cloud computing, and automated testing is essential.
  • Recruit, retain, and lead a high-performing, diverse group of engineering professionals, establishing clear objectives and key results, developing consistent practices across the team, and driving the resolution of complex challenges. This includes managing all performance aspects of the engineers, providing feedback, and conducting reviews.
  • Shape the technical vision within the product team and be a vital member of the leadership team, influencing and advancing the architecture across the organization while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and audit requirements. Define how technical work should be executed, select appropriate tools, and establish standards and practices within your technical domain.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications:

Additional Skills:
  • 2+ years of experience in People Leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with Object-Oriented programming (particularly Java and Spring Framework).
  • Experience with React or front-end development is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with container technologies and platforms is a plus.
  • Experience in architectural design.
  • Knowledge of Data Engineering practices.

Compensation:
The base salary for this position typically ranges between $104,000.00 to $175,000. Additional incentives may be included as part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may influence the salary for this role.
