About the Role

Orica is seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team in Homer, GA. As a key member of our maintenance function, you will be responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of our fleet of delivery trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including engine and chassis problems, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Work on hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems, as well as welding, steering, and suspension components.
  • Manage inventory of repair parts and preventative maintenance supplies, ensuring timely and cost-effective maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other team members to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma with Postsecondary trade or vocational school preferred.
  • Certification in a relevant trade or field is a plus.
  • CDL Class B driver's license is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use shop mathematics, and manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of basic operations, hydraulic, electrical, and welding principles.
  • Familiarity with computer software, including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Internet, Lotus Notes, and SAP.
  • Reliable and dependable, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
