Job Overview

As a pivotal member of the Finance team at Space Age Credit Union, the Senior Financial Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive management of the Accounting Department. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless administration and functionality of the Finance and Accounting sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily activities within the Accounting Department, focusing on performance evaluations, staff training, and development.
  • Interpret and enforce Credit Union policies and regulations to maintain departmental integrity.
  • Conduct personnel management functions in compliance with relevant statutes, including EEO and OSHA.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the VP of Human Resources regarding staffing decisions, including hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Organize, train, and oversee the performance of direct reports, ensuring resource allocation aligns with operational demands.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements adhering to NCUA standards and generate comprehensive financial and statistical reports.
  • Support the budgeting process and collaborate with the VP of Finance on month-end reporting for the Board of Directors.
  • Engage with auditors and examiners during year-end audits and comprehensive reviews.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of Risk Management, Asset Liability Management (ALM), and Concentration Risk principles.
  • Complete Quarterly Call Reports as required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance and possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar role.
