Position Overview

As a Bilingual Community-Based Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting families in their natural environments. Your role will include:

  • Managing a small caseload of 4-6 families
  • Conducting family sessions three times a week, tailored to the families' schedules and conducted in their homes
  • Participating in a crisis on-call rotation for the program
  • Attending three supervision meetings weekly
  • Utilizing web-based documentation tools, including voice recognition technology in many locations
  • Providing counseling services in diverse community settings

Additional Information

This position offers a flexible and non-traditional schedule, accommodating the availability of the youth and families served. Applicants are required to possess a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle for work-related purposes, and auto insurance. Community-based staff will receive reimbursement for applicable mileage.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A Master's degree in a social services field is preferred; however, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is mandatory. Acceptable degrees include social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy. Other degrees will be evaluated for qualification equivalency.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in crisis intervention with individuals or families
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficient written, verbal, and oral communication skills
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule
