Engineering Training Specialist

We are seeking permanent personnel to contribute to nuclear initiatives. As a key representative of NUVIA, you will engage with one of our major clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Position Overview

This is a remarkable opportunity to join NUVIA as a Training Specialist with a focus on engineering at Hinkley Point C (HPC), where we are constructing two new nuclear reactors, marking the beginning of a new era in nuclear power generation in the UK, delivering low carbon electricity to approximately six million households.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with the creation and execution of essential training programs. Mobility is required to deliver training as necessary, ensuring that personnel acquire the foundational knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively. The role demands accuracy in content, compliance with training standards, and excellence in delivery quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver training materials across various key areas.
  • Facilitate training in both classroom and workshop settings, providing coaching and mentoring to enhance learning.
  • Serve as the course coordinator for designated training areas.
  • Lead and conduct training sessions for groups ranging from 1 to 20 participants, depending on the subject matter and environment.
  • Collaborate with line managers to foster competence development within their teams.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for material development.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential:
  • HNC or higher qualification in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience in a science or engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to apply current knowledge and adapt to emerging technologies.
  • Effective team collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical challenges.
  • Strong mentoring and influencing capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel for training delivery as needed.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with training methodologies.
  • Knowledge in power generation or related sectors.
  • Understanding of modern learning techniques and their application in training development and delivery.
  • Experience with Vision training tools.
  • Possession of a recognized teaching or training qualification.
  • Experience in managing customer and stakeholder relationships.
