Description Summary:

The full-time Assistant Manager is a crucial hourly employee responsible for overseeing the operations and management of a theatre and its staff, representing Regal in alignment with our mission and policies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Enforce and uphold all theatre policies.
  • Train, develop, coach, and supervise non-management personnel.
  • Perform various staff roles as needed.
  • Operate all projection and audio-visual equipment, including film handling and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol certification and training where applicable.
  • Monitor risk management related to employee and patron safety, loss prevention, and emergency situations.
  • Manage financial transactions, including counting, depositing, and reconciling daily receipts.
  • Adhere to dress code requirements.
  • Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
  • Review and understand the Regal Operations Manual (ROM).
  • Conduct interviews, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, and manage disciplinary actions for cast members under the guidance of senior management.
  • Control operational costs, including purchasing and ordering supplies for daily operations.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance and upkeep.
  • Engage in marketing and promotions for feature film presentations; schedule movie showtimes and ensure timely communication of schedules.
  • Read and comprehend training materials covering topics such as workplace conduct and discrimination.

Additional Responsibilities:
As assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential duty. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent (if not currently a high school student).

Minimum of three months supervisory experience, or six months theatre experience with completion of the Cast Certification Program, or a combination of both.

If the theatre serves alcohol, must be of legal age to sell and serve alcohol according to state or local regulations.


Skills:
  • Language Ability: Strong public speaking skills; ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with employees, vendors, and corporate staff.
  • Math Ability: Ability to perform calculations accurately and efficiently, identifying and correcting errors.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to identify problems, gather relevant data, and evaluate information.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with PC platforms and basic office software, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interface effectively with customers, the public, and colleagues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises an unspecified number of employees. Responsibilities include training and coaching staff, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, resolving issues, and under the direction of senior management, administering disciplinary actions.
