POSITION SUMMARY:
To guide students in realizing their potential across intellectual, emotional, psychological, and physical dimensions through the provision of suitable guidance and educational experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define objectives and plan educational experiences.
- Participants in the TEAMS initiative will be employed on a 189-day contract.
- Facilitate activities utilizing diverse techniques to optimize instructional time and achieve objectives.
- Establish and uphold standards of student conduct to foster a productive learning environment.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
- Assess the educational program and/or student development.
- Engage with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community organizations.
- Exhibit proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
- Comply with school system regulations, administrative protocols, local board policies, and state and federal laws.
- Pursue personal professional development and exemplify professional ethics and leadership.
- Must possess a valid Alabama professional educator certificate or an alternate certificate in secondary Computer Science.
- Must teach [full-time] approved Computer Science courses for grades 6-12 with the necessary certificate endorsements.

- Currently hold or plan to obtain an Advanced Credential from either the National Institute for STEM Education or National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Certification in math or science.
- To qualify for the hard-to-staff supplements, a participating educator must teach in a school designated as hard-to-staff by the Alabama State Department of Education.
- Must meet all criteria established by the Teacher Excellence and Accountability for Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) Salary Schedule Program.
