Southern Research Institute is seeking a highly motivated and experienced STEM Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our STEM Education Outreach program, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and directing STEM education outreach programs that enhance K-20 STEM education in Alabama.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation: Work with the STEM Education Outreach team to design, develop, and implement STEM education outreach programs that align with the Institute's strategic goals.
- Project Management: Manage a project portfolio that operationalizes strategic goals set forth by the STEM Education Outreach Director.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including educators, students, and community leaders, to identify, design, and deliver educational programs that fill knowledge gaps and provide career exploration and preparation opportunities.
- Program Evaluation and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and evaluate program data and prepare quarterly and annual reports to measure program effectiveness.
- Marketing and Outreach: Develop marketing materials and coordinate outreach efforts to promote STEM education programs and services.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the STEM Education Outreach Director and other team members to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field or Education required.
- Experience: 5 years' experience working with K-20 students in a formal or informal educational setting, with a focus on STEM education.
- Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of current theories, techniques, and methodologies of STEM education, with a focus on K-20 education.
- Master's degree in a STEM-related field or Education.
- Experience in designing STEM outreach activities for K-20 students and educators.
- Knowledge of grant writing and reporting.
