Mental Health Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Millwood Hospital, a 134-bed mental health facility in Arlington, TX.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide high-quality patient care and support to patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics. As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and be responsible for ensuring patient safety, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients with varying needs and backgrounds.
- Work collaboratively with the treatment team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Monitor patient behavior and intervene as needed to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Degree or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in a related field, preferably in psychiatric patient care.
- A valid driver's license in the applicable state.
You will also need to complete the Management Aggressive Behavior Training (CPI) and certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association for CPR prior to taking an independent patient assignment.
