Position Summary:
The Facilities Operations Manager is tasked with ensuring that our clinics and offices are maintained to the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. This role requires hands-on management and oversight of the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of our facilities, equipment, and grounds. The Facilities Operations Manager will collaborate closely with various departments to meet the operational needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance and repair activities for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
- Manage flooring repairs and cleaning tasks.
- Handle minor plumbing and electrical work.
- Oversee IT equipment installation and wiring.
- Coordinate cabinet installations.
- Facilitate door and hardware installations.
- Conduct drywall repairs and painting tasks.
- Solicit bids from external contractors and supervise project execution.
- Manage space planning, office relocations, and refurbishments.
- Monitor essential building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Ensure projects remain within the facilities budget.
- Control expenditures to maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts with service providers and suppliers.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Prepare for and respond to emergencies, including fire and flood incidents.
- Plan and coordinate facility-related projects, including renovations and new constructions.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Track project progress to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience in facilities management.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Exceptional project management and organizational abilities.
- Experience in light plumbing and electrical work.
- Proficiency in flooring installation.
- Experience in drywall and painting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and facilities management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Facilities Management (e.g., IFMA, BIFM).
- Knowledge of contract management and negotiation practices.
Working Conditions:
- This role may require occasional evening or weekend work.
- Travel to various clinics and future locations may be necessary.
- Regular interaction with multiple departments and external contractors is expected.
- Physical requirements may include lifting materials, conducting physical inspections, and responding to emergencies.
