Job Title: Upper Elementary Montessori Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Upper Elementary Montessori Teacher to join our team at the Latin American Montessori Bilingual Public Charter School (LAMB). As a Montessori teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students in Fourth Grade to Fifth Grade, fostering a love of learning, and promoting academic excellence.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to Montessori education, bilingualism, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. You will be responsible for developing grade-level skills, teaching across content areas, and maintaining fidelity to LAMB's Dual Language Allocation Plan. Additionally, you will collaborate with co-teachers to deliver the bilingual Montessori Upper Elementary curriculum, ensure learning standards are met, and maintain a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers to plan instruction, record-keep, analyze data, and plan special activities.
  • Maintain a well-organized and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student autonomy and self-directed learning.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families through regular communication and community engagement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay updated on best practices in Montessori education.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • Upper Elementary Certification in Montessori education (MACTE accredited) or willingness to enroll in a Montessori training program.
  • Meet state educational requirements, preferably a valid state-issued teaching license or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • English bilingual speaker or English native speaker.
  • Extensive experience working in early childhood programs and/or experience in dual-language education (preferred).
  • Ability to work with students of various abilities, including those with identified exceptionalities.
