About the Position:

Bay Atlantic University seeks an English Language Instructor to teach English as a Second Language classes to non-English speaking adults and teenagers.

Job Summary:

The English Language Instructor will provide a safe, inclusive, enjoyable, and interactive learning environment with concentrated classes, private tutorials, or substitutions as needed to help students become successful in their English language skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct English as a Second Language classes or substitutions as assigned
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Assess student performance through various methods, including quizzes, tests, and projects
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators to ensure a smooth educational experience
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress
  • Collaborate with other instructors to develop curriculum and materials
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A Master's degree from an accredited institution in ESL, TESOL, TESL, or a related Education degree
  • Native English proficiency
  • One year of teaching experience in English as a Second Language
  • Excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritize conflicting demands, and manage time effectively
