Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pharmacy Clinical Operations Manager to join our team at Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing leadership to our team of pharmacists and technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the scheduling, personnel management, and procurement of medications, as well as the sterile and non-sterile compounding processes.
  • Participate in quality-assurance activities, represent the department on hospital-wide and unit-specific committees, and serve as a resource for other pharmacists and healthcare practitioners.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Operations Manager counterpart, Clinical Pharmacy Manager, and Informatics Pharmacist to develop, implement, and operate departmental projects and services.
  • Work closely with internal and external customers and internal resources to develop, establish, provide, and monitor pharmacy services for direct patient care.
  • Oversee and manage the staffing, recruitment, discipline, training, and development of direct reports to support pharmacy operations and employee growth.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
  • Active District of Columbia pharmacist license required.
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience required.
  • Advanced training to obtain skills consistent with an MS, MBA, MPH, or equivalent managerial experience is required.
  • At least two years of hospital pharmacy practice experience is required.
  • At least two years of pharmacy supervisory experience preferred.
