Job Overview

The Provider Relations Specialist I plays a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers through various communication channels, addressing inquiries related to billing and reviews. This position is responsible for documenting discrepancies in billing processes to identify trends and enhance the team's performance. As a representative of CorVel, this role emphasizes adherence to company standards and the delivery of high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with providers through clear and professional communication.
  • Utilize the billing review system to retrieve accurate information for inquiries.
  • Comprehend CorVel's Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and specific client requirements.
  • Provide answers to inquiries regarding state workers' compensation fee schedules and billing for various medical services.
  • Explain provider contracted rates, carve-outs, and special Letters of Authorization (LOAs) relevant to medical billing.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Manage phone interactions to ensure efficient resolution and minimize wait times for providers.
  • Adhere to safety protocols during work hours in alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Capable of working collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in customer service within Managed Care and Benefit Administration preferred.

Compensation:

CorVel employs a market-driven approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying based on geographic location and other factors. Adjustments may occur based on the interview assessment, considering experience and qualifications.

Pay Rate: $22.36 per hour
