Job Overview

As a Precision Millwright at ABLEMKR, you will be instrumental in the effective operation and upkeep of our clients' heavy machinery and equipment. Your role will involve diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic challenges, along with executing welding tasks as necessary. Your skill set will be crucial in reducing downtime, enhancing equipment efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer service.

This position entails significant travel, with up to 70% of your time spent at various customer sites and internal locations for training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare for field assignments by reviewing the detailed scope of work, drawings, specifications, and customer guidelines.
  • Provide technical support and hands-on service during the installation, commissioning, and start-up phases to ensure compliance with safety standards and design specifications.
  • Conduct various millwright tasks, including the installation and alignment of new components and complete mill replacements.
  • Repair a range of process equipment, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and mills.
  • Perform critical alignments and precision surveying using advanced tools.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fit/form issues, advising on corrective actions.
  • Operate and maintain common welding equipment in an industrial setting.
  • Execute cutting tasks using various methods and tools.
  • Maintain detailed records of job progress, issues, and changes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to ensure satisfaction with service quality.
  • Collaborate with technical support teams within the organization.
  • Engage with customers alongside the sales team to explore service business opportunities.
  • Adhere to safe work practices while performing maintenance and repairs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in millwrighting and/or welding within the mining or heavy construction sectors.
  • Field welding experience is advantageous, particularly with grinding mills and other machinery.
  • Welding certifications are beneficial.
  • Prior MSHA training is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to meet DOT physical requirements.
  • Familiarity with process equipment such as crushers and pumps.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient in making timely and accurate decisions regarding problem-solving.
  • Well-organized with the ability to maintain precise records and communicate effectively.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge and skills are essential.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use measuring tools.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Basic welding and cutting skills are advantageous.
  • Understanding of basic rigging principles.
