Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Manager to join our team at UofL Health-Jewish Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sterilization and high-level disinfection processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, direct, and coordinate hospital-wide activities related to the management and distribution of patient care supplies and instrumentation.
  2. Direct the personnel and activities of the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring adherence to department budget and regulatory standards.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures for sterilization and high-level disinfection practices.
  4. Provide educational opportunities and training for SPD personnel and other hospital staff.
  5. Act as a liaison and resource person for other medical center departments in relation to decontamination, sterilization, and high-level disinfection of instruments or equipment.
  6. Monitor sterilization and high-level disinfection chemical products utilized throughout the facility.
  7. Prepare and adhere to annual operating and capital budgets.
  8. Maintain statistical information and prepare reports related to departmental activities.
Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• Five (5) years of experience in Sterile Processing, with two (2) years of progressive SPD or OR leadership experience.

• Manual dexterity, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of instrument tracking system and Premier is preferred.

• Ability to speak and read English is required.

• Triple Certification is required by a nationally recognized program for Sterile Processing Technician.
