Job Summary

The Benefits Manager works closely with the Total Rewards team to execute Clark's strategy for leave and absence, as well as benefits and wellness programs. This role requires a strategic and customer-focused individual who can manage the Leave of Absence and Job Accommodation programs and serve as a subject matter expert within and outside the HR team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Leave of Absence and Job Accommodation programs and serve as the subject matter expert within and outside the HR team
  • Coordinate federal, state, and local jurisdictional leave and state pay (e.g., California, DC, San Francisco, and Washington State) with internal sick and leave policies
  • Supervise Benefits and Leave Administrator
  • Manage administration of Clark's H&W benefits and wellness programs. Oversee monthly invoice processes and compliance requirements
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships for long-term benefit strategies and administration as well as ongoing assessments and plan administration
  • Assist with implementation of new programs
  • Partner with Corporate Communications on leave and benefit communications through multiple delivery channels (e.g., Intranet, recorded webinars/videos, and mailings)
  • Participate in monthly Benefits 101 webinar
  • Collaborate with HRIS to implement leave configuration changes in Workday
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive benefits experience; managerial experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state requirements including paid Leave, ADA, ERISA, and other benefit compliance requirements
  • HRIS experience, preferably Workday
  • Able to confidentially maintain personal information. Understands and respects the sensitive nature of information and manages this responsibility to ensure issues are handled discreetly, effectively, and efficiently
  • SHRM-CP/SCP, S/PHR, or related/similar certifications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-starter, results-oriented team player
  • Ability to problem-solve and negotiate outcomes
  • Takes initiative and ownership of projects
  • Strong research and data analysis techniques, including high proficiency with Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, capable of explaining concepts clearly
  • Exceptional attention to detail and insistence on accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
