This role is integral to our operations, focusing on assisting the Department of Defense with advanced computing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for delivering technical support to computer users. The primary duties include:

  • Providing assistance to users experiencing technical difficulties.
  • Resolving inquiries or issues related to computer systems, either in person or through remote communication.
  • Managing user accounts, including the creation and password resets.
  • Conducting system-level administration and troubleshooting.
  • Guiding users in understanding the capabilities of software and hardware.
  • Monitoring system performance to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
  • Carrying out additional tasks as assigned.
  • Reporting any irregularities to the supervisor.
Educational Qualifications
  • Must possess an active in-scope SECRET clearance and the ability to obtain a top-secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • A high school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 2+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Essential Skills and Knowledge

Preferred familiarity with various High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems and technologies, including:

  • Cray/Cray Ex, IBM, SGI, Penguin, or similar architectures.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or other Linux-based operating systems.
  • InfiniBand (IB) and Intel Omni-Path interconnect technologies.
  • Job scheduling tools such as Portable Batch System (PBS), Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management (SLURM), or IBM Platform Load Sharing Facility (LSF).
  • Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, or ARM processors.
  • Nvidia graphics processing units (GPUs).
  • ITIL Foundation knowledge.
