Job Title: Assistant Controller

A Stamford, CT-based company is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Controller in all aspects of finance.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional business partners to drive process excellence and financial statement accuracy. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of Consolidated Financial statements and reporting to external and internal parties under IFRS
  • Manage the preparation of individual company statutory financial statements and reporting under local GAAP
  • Evaluate business transactions for proper accounting treatment
  • Responsible for technical accounting matters
  • Research and analyze accounting matters under IFRS and communicate with local accounting managers
  • Manage internal and external audits
  • Prepare annual and quarterly reporting on a global basis
  • Develop and maintain internal financial systems, controls, and safeguards
  • Develop accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum eight years of related experience
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
  • Big 4 experience and commodity accounting experience a plus
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible with ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
