Senior Accountant Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the Company's financial operations, responsible for the day-to-day accounting and period-end account reconciliation process. This position requires a high level of expertise in lease accounting, financial analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Account for the full life cycle of aircraft leases, including rental revenues, aircraft maintenance revenues, and reserves.
  • Prepare lease classification tests, straight-line rental revenue calculations, and lease premium and/or discount calculations.
  • Assist with lease accounting analyses and adjustments for lease extensions, amendments, transitions, sales, and close-out.
  • Prepare month-end close accounting journal entries and period-end General Ledger account reconciliations.
  • Support month-end internal reporting and quarter/year-end external reporting through creation of analyses and schedules.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and timely support of internal and external audit inquiries.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's is a plus.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience.
  • Lease accounting experience is ideal.
  • Experience with general ledger/reporting systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.
