Job Title: Assistant Controller

Crane NXT Co. is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead our Corporate Accounting team and oversee global business unit accounting and consolidation.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly reporting of consolidated results, including flash reporting and internal metric reporting through the monthly close cycle.
  • Prepare consolidated cash flow statements, analyzing all supporting transactions related to stock compensation, acquisition/disposition activity, treasury matters, and business unit activity.
  • Assist with monthly forecasting and annual planning for corporate office departments, collaborating with department heads on expense budgeting and tracking.
  • Perform regular reviews of business unit balance sheets, key financial metrics, and global finance policy compliance, collaborating on accounting for significant transactions.
  • Review all Press Release and SEC filing data, working collaboratively with corporate department leaders and business unit finance teams to support all disclosures.
  • Partner with third-party pension and other benefit providers to ensure proper planning and recording of related expense and accounting entries.
  • Manage significant areas of corporate accounting, including acquisitions and dispositions, restructuring, stock compensation, benefit plans, and insurance.
  • Oversight of Corporate GL system, Dynamics, and consolidation system, HFM, including significant interaction with system administrators.
  • Leadership of the Corporate accounting team, including Accounts Payable and General Accounting.
  • Coordination of statutory audits related to the corporate holding companies, including tracking of global statutory reporting filings.
  • Providing consultation to our Business Unit Finance teams related to accounting and reporting, main point of contact for the business finance teams.
  • Oversight of SOX controls related to corporate accounting, consolidation, and internal reporting of company results.
  • Supervising and providing professional development to two direct reports and the wider team.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of the monthly close process and technical accounting.
  • Detailed experience consolidating results of a global corporation, including intercompany eliminations and accounting for foreign exchange.
  • Highly driven and self-motivated individual who can manage projects independently.
  • Detailed-oriented, highly organized individual with a positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative nature with the ability to influence and lead others, while showing empathy.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to senior management.
Qualifications:
  • CPA with a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Ten years of prior experience working in accounting, with at least 3 years working in public accounting and at least 5 years working on the Controller team of a publicly traded company.
  • Experience with the Hyperion Finance Management (HFM) consolidation system is a must.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $178k-$228K annually. Pay is based on multiple factors, including work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
